Rod Abbott

Rod Abbott is a Mechanical Technologist with more than 12 years of engineering experience. Rod has been with Wardrop Engineering, now a Tetra Tech Company, for 8 years and is part of the Mining Group as a Piping Designer.  Since joining Wardrop, he has played a key role in implementing various 3D tools, including CADWorx and ISOGEN.  His project experience includes green- and brown-field design work for the forest industry, mining, and manufacturing.  In addition to design, he uses his understanding of CADWorx and AutoCAD to provide technical support, internal training, and company policies.  He has been instructing at the COADE conferences since 2008, the first CUC.

Richard Ay

Richard Ay graduated with a BS in Ocean Engineering in 1977 and moved to Houston to work for a large E&C firm. In 1983 while working for an Offshore Consulting firm, Rich earned an MS in Civil Engineering. In 1985, Rich joined COADE. Since then Rich has spent his time working on the development of CAESAR II, TANK, the Licensing routines, QA and Technical Support procedures. Rich is now the Chief Technical Officer and oversees the development of the Engineering products at ICAS. Rich has his Professional Engineering license and is a member of ASCE and ASME.

Loren Brown

Loren Brown graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1986 where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering.  He then began his career with Rockwell International’s Rocketdyne Division (Currently Pratt & Whitney) where he worked on the X-30 National Aerospace Plane, Space Shuttle Main Engines, Delta and Atlas rocket programs, among others.  He worked in thermal analysis, rocket engine performance analysis, and orbital mechanics during the first 10 years of his career.  Mr. Brown joined Intergraph CADWorx and Analysis Solutions (former COADE) in 1997 and has been a part of CAESAR II development from that time to the present.  He is the director of technical support for CAESAR II and is involved on a day-to-day basis with development, testing, documentation, and training.

Michael Conaway

Senior Applications Engineer with Plant Design Solutions in Houston.  Mike joined the Plant Design Solutions team in 2011, where he provides training, consulting and technical support.   With over 30 years of experience in Petro-Chemical Design and current Level IV Certified Piping Designer with the Society of Piping Engineers and Designers.  Mike has worked for several of the Major EPC’s in the Implementation and training of CADWorx.

Kristin Coyle

Kristin Coyle is a support engineer and developer for PV Elite. She graduated from Drexel University with a bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering in 2010 and joined Intergraph's CADWorx and Analysis Solutions group in 2011. She specializes in fitness for service and materials applications.


Ray Delaforce

After leaving school, Ray was indentured as an apprentice working for British Oxygen Company in North London (UK).  He was released one day a week (and attended evening classes) where He pursued an engineering diploma, obtaining an HNC in mechanical engineering.   He then worked for the Ford Motor Company as a draughtsman in the truck division in Dagenham England.  In 1965 He immigrated to South Africa where He worked for a pressure vessel inspection and certification company.  He was originally employed as an inspector, but they later also employed him as a vessel engineer.  In 1976, along with partners he formed another vessel inspection company (Avco Inspection CC).  After a number of years, He ended up owning the business.  He was by then the chief engineer and QA manager.  In the year 2000 He came to America.  He secured employment as a vessel engineer with two companies; Freeport Welding and Fabricating Inc., and RC Technical in Stafford Texas.  In 2003, He gained employment with COADE Inc., to provide technical support in the PV Elite department.  His duties include training in the use of our software both in the United States and abroad.  He feels fortunate to have been in the right place at the right time in his life.  He considered himself very privileged to have met and had association with wonderful people all his life.

Sonia Delgadillo

Sonia Delgadillo is the Senior CADWorx Applications Specialist for the CADWorx products at Intergraph CAS and is responsible for product presentations, training and dealer support. Sonia joined Intergraph in January 2009. She has 7 years of experience teaching designers, engineers, owner operators and EPC firms how to develop and implement best practices using the CADWorx product suite.


David Diehl

David Diehl graduated with a BSME from Lehigh University, Pensylvania, USA in 1976. Upon graduation he took a post as a Dynaflex technical support representative for Auton Computing in New York City. After four years David relocated to Houston, Texas providing mainframe-based piping system analysis services.  In 1986, he took a position at Intergraph CADWorx & Analysis Solutions (COADE, Inc.) introducing and selling CAESAR II, the worlds first PC-based pipe stress analysis package.While at ICAS Dave earned his Professional Engineering license, served as the CAESAR II product manager, is now the lead instructor for CAESAR II, and manages all training for ICAS. For the last ten years Dave has participated in the B31.3 Section Committee and is the former chair of the Design Task Group there.  He also serves as a Director of SPED – the Society of Piping Engineers and Designers.

Joseph Dixon

Joseph Dixon is the Product Manager for CADWorx He joined COADE in January 2007 and has continued to address the needs of the AutoCAD Plant Design market. He has been a piping designer and manager in the petrochemical industry since 1985. Joseph has worked with CADWorx as a designer and manager since 1998 and was instrumental in his company's roll out of 100+ seats of CADWorx Plant and CADWorx P&ID. His present responsibilities as Product Manager involve working with users, dealers, and the engineering group to enhance CADWorx to meet the market's needs.


Dominik Hepp

Dominik Hepp joined the Intergraph CADWorx and Analysis Solutions (Intergraph CAS) group in August 2011. His responsibilities include providing end-user technical support, product testing, and training/presentation support for the CADWorx Plant Design Suite, CAESAR II, and product integration.


Bill Huffman

As Chief Engineer at Ward Tank and Heat Exchanger, Bill is responsible for making sure all designs by the engineering department meet all applicable code rules, customer requirements, and shop standards.  Bill has a BSME from the University of Illinois, and spent 5 years working at a consulting engineering company specializing in vessel analysis.  He has 10 years of experience at Ward Tank with all aspects of vessel and heat exchanger design and fabrication.  Bill is a registered Professional Engineer and is a member of the TEMA Technical Committee.


Kevin Kang

Kevin Kang is Software Consultant for the Intergraph CADWorx and Analysis Solutions group. His responsibility is to provide recommendations for CADWorx developments, implementations, and to evaluate technical design and quality issues, processes and testing. He joined the Intergraph CADWorx and Analysis Solutions group in August 2000. He holds BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University.


Scott Mayeux

Scott Mayeux is a Mechanical Engineer with 22 years of experience in the Engineering and Software Development Field. His area of expertise is in integration of ASME and other Codes and Standards into the PV Elite software. Over the years Scott also garnered experience in Pipe Stress analysis as well as knowledge in other standards such as WRC, TEMA, API and many others. At Intergraph, Scott is the Director of Development for Pressure Vessel and Exchanger Solutions. For the last 12 years he has also served as an ASME Code Committee member on the Sub Group Heat Transfer Equipment (SGHTE).


Carol McComb

Carol McComb is a Mechanical Technologist with an Ontario Skills Apprenticeship Certificate in Computer Aided Drafting. With over 20 years of experience using various 2D & 3D Cad programs and in the Water Treatment Field, she has been a Senior Mechanical Designer with Ecodyne Water in Burlington, Ontario since 1996. She is involved in the preparation of plot plans, piping layouts, spool details, skid frame and support drawings, bills of materials, purchase requisitions as well as assembly shop and field support and is actively involved in ongoing training and support of drafting personnel. She is an AutoCAD 2010 Certified Professional and a Professional Piping Designer Level IV. She successfully completed the Advanced CADWorx Certification Exam and currently uses Caesar II as well as CADWorx Plant.

Josh Sampson

Josh has 10 years of plant design experience with CADWorx Plant, P&ID, and Isogen.  Josh works as a CADWorx Coordinator/Model Manager for Mustang Engineering in Houston, Texas in the Process Plants group. Josh completed the Process Plant Layout & Piping Design course offered from the University of Houston's SPED program. Josh received his training in CADWorx from Mellinger and Associates. Josh Sampson completed his Technical Drawing and Computer Aided Drafting from Hutchinson Community College. Josh taught at the 2008, 2009, & 2010 CUC.


Luis Sanjuan

Luis graduated from the University of Texas Pan American and holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering.  Luis joined Intergraph in August of 2008, and since then he has helped hundreds of PV Elite users, and their companies, become more efficient, by helping them improve their product knowledge and work processes. He is also responsible for the software development and technical support for PV Elite and CodeCalc.


Mandeep Singh

Since 1988 Mandeep Singh has worked as a senior engineer for the Intergraph CADWorx and Analysis Solutions group. He is a senior developer for both Intergraph PV Elite and Intergraph CodeCalc. Additionally he provides technical support, instructs during the vessel seminars, and conducts product presentations. He has also used PV Elite/CodeCalc on real-world design projects. He has been actively involved in Intergraph CADWorx and Analysis Discovery tours, showing the benefits of PV Elite to the clients worldwide. Mr. Singh holds a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University, and brings together the technical expertise of the pressure vessel industry, plus an in-depth knowledge of PV Elite and CodeCalc.

Lee Smith

Lee Smith is a Senior Project Designer for the Willbros Engineering and operates Smith Design/Drafting. Lee's responsibilities include coordinating teams for design projects in the gas processing, gas transmission, and refinery projects for clients and assisting in project management roles. With piping and structural design background, his major experience is in process skid design, unit layouts, and facility site layouts. A graduate of Oklahoma State University Tech, Lee has 34 plus years experience in the gas processing and transmission, oil refining, and chemical plant industries. Lee has gone from the drafting board to 3D CAD design, and from field construction to the corporate office, working with many of the leading companies of the industry. Lee has been married for 34 years and has two daughters, a son, and ten grandchildren.

Chad Snider

Chad Snider, an Applications Specialist with Plant Design Solutions in Houston, is a certified CADWorx Instructor.  Chad has an extensive understanding of 3D drawing environments, with an emphasis on 3D modeling, Isogen and Intelligent P&ID's.  Chad has a strong Networking/IT background and helped implement and support many of the largest CADWorx Network Installations in the world.


Nadia Strikovski

Nadia Strikovski is a CAESAR II Development Manager, she joined the Intergraph CADWorx and Analysis Solutions group in November 2002. She has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and MS in Computer Science from the University of Houston. Nadia develops CAESAR II, instructs during pipe stress analysis seminars, and provides technical support for CAESAR II. She brings the technical expertise of the pipe stress industry with knowledge of numerous piping codes and other standards such as WRC, TEMA, API and many others, plus an in-depth knowledge of CAESAR II application.


Ashraf Taha

Ashraf Taha joined Intergraph in 2005 and has been a member of CADWorx team since then. He has added several features to CADWorx including SpecView, P&ID View, Clash View, LineView and Pipe Support module. Ashraf has a degree in structural engineering and 18 years in software development. He also developed software for structural steel in addition to general CAD and CAE for several engineering companies.


Jack Hollenbeck

Jack Hollenbeck is an Engineering Technology Technician at Exterran Energy Solutions, the global market leader in full service natural gas compression and process & treating.  Jack has more than 20 years of experience drafting with AutoCAD, and 6 years with CADWorx and Isogen.  Today, Jack creates internationally standardized software systems and workflows, and provides global engineering software administration, technical support, software development, and software training for all domestic and international design groups.  Jack is a recognized expert using Isogen to its optimum potential, and holds an Associate’s degree in Drafting Technology from Oklahoma State University.
Clark Johnson

Clark Johnson started his CAD career 30+ years ago while working for a progressive home builder in Houston, Texas.  After a varied career moving from architecture through structural steel, process piping, electrical and mechanical design, as well as other disciplines, he landed at Toromont (now Enerflex) 10 years ago and found CADWorx.  For these past years Clark has been involved in Process Gas Project design and modeling, software setup and development, (including ISOGEN, CADWorx and AutoCAD customization, & third party software development and implementation), training, co-ordination of CAD implementation during a merger of five varied business units.
Sam Kannappan

Sockalingam “Sam” Kannappan of Houston is a Professional Engineer and senior design engineer for SNC-Lavalin Hydrocarbons & Chemicals, Houston. He is a Board Member of the Society of Piping Engineers & Designers and Advisory Board Member, Asia Society, Texas Center. He received his B.E. (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, India and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas, Austin. He is the author of the text book on “Introduction to Pipe Stress Analysis” and developer of Piping Analysis software “EZFLEX”.

Ken Atkins

Kenneth E. Atkins is a Senior Staff Engineer with Engineering Dynamics Incorporated, in San Antonio, Texas.  He has extensive experience in the design and troubleshooting of a variety of mechanical systems involving reciprocating machinery, structural, and piping vibration problems.  Mr. Atkins was a Research Engineer with Southwest Research Institute (1978 to 1981) and a Machinery Engineer with Exxon Chemical Americas (1981 to 1982).  In 1982, he cofounded Engineering Dynamics Incorporated.  He has authored several technical papers in the areas of reciprocating machinery, piping, and structural dynamics.  He has lectured frequently at the Texas A&M Turbomachinery and Pump Symposium with both tutorials and short courses.

Mr. Atkins received a B.S. degree (Engineering Science, 1978) from Trinity University.  He is a member of ASME and a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.  He is a sub-task force member for pulsation and vibration control for API Standards 618, 674 and RP 688.  He is also a member of the ASME OM-S/G Committee on Operation and Maintenance of Nuclear Power Plants (Piping Systems Subgroup).

Jim Meyer

Jimmy Meyer has over 35 years experience in refining petrochemical, chemical, power generation and industrial facilities.  He is a principal engineer at Louis Perry and Associates, a full service engineering and architectural firm in Wadsworth Ohio.  Jim is experienced in overall project coordination/management, pressure equipment, piping design, analysis, specifications, support design, mechanical system requirements and documentation requirements.  Particular areas of technical competence include ASME piping and pressure vessel codes, stress analysis, and field troubleshooting piping system support, vibration and expansion problems.

Mr. Meyer is a member of ASME and has been involved in the ASME B31.1 and ASME B31.3 Section committees for over 30 years.  He is currently Chair of the ASME B31.3 Process Piping Section Committee, Vice Chair of the ASME Standards Committee and serves on the ASME Board on Pressure Technology Codes and Standards.  Jim has also served as Chair of ASME B31.1 Power Piping
Code Section Committee.

Tony Paulin

Tony Paulin has dedicated his life to creating and helping engineers apply the best and most advanced technology to the fields of piping and pressure vessel design and analysis.  In 1991 he founded Paulin Research Group (PRG) to develop FEA-based software programs for use in the PV&P sector.  Under Tony Paulin’s direction, PRG performs consulting, training, and physical lab testing to confirm both the software’s accuracy and usability.  He regularly presents papers and findings at industry seminars and conferences.  Some of Mr. Paulin’s key accomplishments include:
